While many people are just now discovering it, sound healing, also known as sound therapy, tuning fork therapy or vibrational medicine is actually an ancient practice.  It has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing and to help move us from a place of imbalance to a place of balance.  Sound healing is a gentle, non-invasive acoustic therapy.

During the session, I use frequency-specific tuning forks. The use of tuning forks in sound therapy sessions is based on the concept that everything in the universe is made of vibration. Our bodies are made up of water and water conducts sound, thus the body is an amazing resonator for sound.  Sound vibrations travel through the body to help remove energetic blockages.  As the sound waves pass through the body, they elicit responses of the body’s systems.  One of the main things sound healing does is put your body into a parasympathetic state.  Being in this state affects you on a physiological and emotional level.  It helps decrease cortisol, which could help decrease high blood pressure. Sound healing can also increase alpha and theta waves so you can be more alert during the day and enjoy a deeper sleep, where healing really occurs.
Sessions last either 30 or 60 minutes and take place fully clothed on the massage table.

Please wear comfortable clothing.
